Kant uses the idea of a “world concept of philosophy” at the end of the Critique of Pure Reason to refer to his philosophical system and its architectural structure. It is concerned with the inner connection between all the spheres covered by Kant’s philosophy. It is meant to inspire a discussion of “what necessarily interests every person,” including the ultimate principles of a good, just and meaningful life.

Alexander Fedorov, Rector of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University: |
We have a great respect for the legacy of our university's patron, Professor Kant. His ideas have had an impact on science, culture, and pedagogy, and formed the basis of international law. Over the past few years, our university has been working on drawing the attention of the international community to a very important — both for Russia and its partners — idea of the philosophy of the future. It is about comprehending a new image of our future, our life, lifelong educational route, contribution to the development of the country and the Mankind. The preparation for and holding of the anniversary events will strengthen positions of Russian science, as well as increase the appeal of Russia as a career destination for foreign scientists. Immanuel Kant once said that philosophy is the only branch of science that can give us inner satisfaction. It is surprisingly accurate! The year 2024 will indeed see the triumph of philosophical thought. |

Nina Dmitrieva, Research Director of the Academia Kantiana at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University: |
Immanuel Kant is an intellectual authority from whom one hopes to receive guidance on fundamental questions of human life. Kant’s famous categorical imperative is, among other things, an imperative of solidarity. It requires us to organize and limit our private habits and passions so that they are compatible with the welfare of others. Such behavior means that one remains true to oneself, one’s humanity, and one’s freedom.
