Kant’s philosophy of mathematics had greatly influenced many scientists, among them the great mathematician of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, David Hilbert. Hilbert who was born in Königsberg and graduated from the Albertina university; this Kantian background is evident in his works.
In his work «The Foundations of Geometry'' instead of defining basic concepts, like points and lines, Hilbert reduced Euclidean solid geometry to axioms. This is exactly the approach that Kant revered in his first published work.
